Vinitzky Family: Zaks Matchbook Cover. Haja Lea Vinitzky, born in 1876 was the only family member who could read and write Russian. She also worked at the Zaks match factory in Dvinsk when she was 18 at the time of the 1897 census.
Thanks to Tsar Nicholas the Second, Abram Vinitzky + Zizle Mesnikov and their children were recorded in the 1897 First All Great Russian Census

Vinitzky (Winitsky / Winitski)- History & Descendants

We don't know where Meyer Vinitzky (Latvia) originated but researchers suggest that the name means that he came from Vinnitsa in the Ukraine. It does not appear to be a very common name.

Meyer Vinitzky fathered Avraham/Abram Itzak Vinitzky (shown in photo below) and there is currently no trace of other family. However generally in those days families were large so there might be a chance of finding other branches eventually,

Welcome to our family history website. The family names we are researching are listed in the FAMILY NAMES article.

I would be very grateful to receive any family information, photos, videos, audio recordings and any other documentation relevant to recording our extended family.

I have the facility to dub from audio cassette, 1/4" reel-to-reel tape, to scan slides, photos and negatives in very high quality and to transfer from old film to digital mediums.

The True Love Productions logotype represents the five of us (Paul, Elisabeth, Pogr, Bear, Bo) on an idyllic family island. :)

It was developed in 2000 after a colleague and friend gave us an old VHS video camera. I started recording the family, editing the material, and regularly sent video back to family in the UK and Austria. It seemed incomplete without a closing graphic, thus the logo was created.

 This lead to a general interest in graphic arts and the web, resulting in many websites containing regularly changing galleries of parties and other family events. It seems to have had an effect, two of my sons are graphic artists!

Subsequently my interest in discovering the family history developed and as a consequence this site was created. Its had a painful birth, stretching my aging brain in new directions.
